001: San Diego comic convention- To begin with, I arrived in San Diego 4 hours behind the scheduled because Amercian Eagles had problems with their planes. I got the same room I had last year in the same hostel, and got to know some really wonderful people.( Cat, Kathryn, Ranjala and Kathryn with Rei) The convention was deliciously fun. It fed my braincurd well. So It told me. The weather wasn't as toasty as last year. It had been reasonably merciful...but then again I only guessed. I was in the halls during the day, all days...huhmm. Everyone was really nice, kind and patient with me for having a cucumber of a memory storage system at remembering names and faces. Lookit the Slavelabor booth dis year (>w<) ..(0, 0) ..(Y 3 Y) ..(> c <) ..(+ k +) ..The Jhonen's line ..Inside the thesaurus of talented SLGians- John and Serena, Brian and Jennifer, Serena and Crab, Black Olive, and Tavi and Rikki ..This, we had to face everyday. This you must see. It's the Corpse Bride's booth. Day1 ..day2 ..day3 ..day4 ...the stage, the bride, him and mini figurines. Strange occurrences no.1: I went to Jhonen's panel which terrific, silly dilly and buzzing with bees. One of the most enjoyable panel I have ever attended. There I sat beside a girl who wore a bright blue wig. She was talking to herself the whole time in a very proper and solemn, Englishmen afternoon tea kind of English. I leaned to shut up after realizing she didn't even notice I was there. It was rather... kind of... creepy. Strange occurrences no.2: Coming out of the toilet, I was about to wash my hands when this Caucasian lady who was nearby doing her makeup immediately dashed right to the other end of the restroom to continue her powdering. It was a strange feeling, but maybe I smelt. Or maybe She was afraid I'd splash water all over.... that makes sense..mm. Yah? Walking around the halls, so much desired, only so much I could afford and not much luggage space at all ...Ugly dolls, Gorillaz figurines, Wallace and Gromit, and the curse of the were-rabbit displays. Gorgeous. Fullmetal Alchemist BOoth! Starwars and Light Sabers = crowds congestion and indigestion. Found a cute Yoda looking serious, and one who replaced thine own head with ay neat Darth Maul backpack. It wouldn't be comic con without the cosplayers. So here they are, crazy and a real hoot of fun to run into. This one is brillant. It vents awe all over. 002: Studio Vuduberi- The adorable Vuduberians let me stayed with them for a fornight. They are the nicest human beings on earth. They have the sweetest dog(Kopro) and cats with the cutest names- Coco and Mewmew. We did handifcafts together. Pailin made a pocket pouch and Sunny -being the craftiest- made these cuties. We ate out a lot too, where the servings were always humongous. We went on a roadtrip to a summer heat terrorized Las Vegas. You can fry bright-side-up eggs and bacons for your breakfast on the streets. Las Vages= theme hotels, slot machines, buffets, big paw cats(quicktime clip), margarita, heatwaves and shows. Shows: We watched the new Cirque du Soleillink show- Ka and another old one- Mystere. Ka was impressive in an abstract way. It has the most stunning and magical sets but it is more a play than and circus. Mystere was... I think I might enjoy the old version of Mystere more. The new costumes lacked the grace and mystique of the old one. Hotels: Beautiful gardens... beautiful restrooms... beautiful restaurants... beautiful ceilings... beautiful people... And Wynn being the most charming with it's pretty artworks all around the hotel. Food: Ice-cream, sorbets, and the cute Vuduberi sisters... Scrumptious meals, and desserts too pretty a pity to eat. We were stuffed. We were so filled with food, We would have floated up into the sky fizzy with satisfaction and a bloated tummy if not for the weight of the food. So we rolled out like a beach ball instead. We left Las Vegas a tad not overly well fed. The Winchester mansion: Lovely lovely house. Love it!(/ w \)~3... with pictures evidences 01, 02, 03, 04creepy room, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09ceiling, 10, 11the famous stairs, 12wallpaper, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18. PS: We also attended the wedding of Mai and Marcial(Mai looked really cute in traditional Vietnamese wear). Bless the both of them. 003: Tokyo and Comiket68- Walked around Tokyo alone a bit . Here's a graffiti, here's a bug, there's two spiders and their web, there's the tree roots, and I found them all at Harajuku. Strolled around the less hectic areas of Tokyo too and spotted some Cute cars, a cute shop that sells old candies and toys, and I think I this is a Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moth?(link) Spotted them among a flower bush. They were so small and so fast that I thought they were bees when I was struggling to photograph them. Passersby looked at me weird. Here's a handsome preying mantis. Went to Hatoyama(HP) san's autograph session for her new book- Shoe maker. She is such a sweet lady. My host family took me out to a summer fireworks display(hannabi) in an amusement park. It was simply delightful. It put everyone in a festive celebrative mood....A cicada(semi)(link) fell on someone. In fact several of them kept falling onto different heads and shoulders... To spot them, just follow the ladies' screams. Had an interview with magazine"S"(HP) and Manga no Mori(HP). I was completely revolting and probably miscomprehended most of the questions despite the aid a translator. >__<) ~3 gaa I was rubbish at trying interpret and explain what I wanted to convey, properly too. Writing everything down would have been so much easier... but then again perhaps not. Drawing would be the breeziest.... so here's what and what not happened during the interview in doodle form. Comiket68: It was chaos it was fun. The last day was the best and also the worst. Worst because of the heat and crowd, and best because of all the lovely and amazing people I got to meet. This is Ueda Hajime sensei striking the Hibiki pose with Oshiguchi san from Manga no Mori.( Hibiki, the popular TV show that is all rage in Japan right now.) Here's Range Murata sensei and Okama sensei both in white... Lovely dainty little ladies... Keroro!... Kanesada sensei and Sanbe sensei in black. I love them I love them! They are so cute!(/ w \) They dressed up as Nata and Farllee from muZz! I was stunned. I was speechless. You could jab me with a spork in my head till your arms break and bleed and I'd still smile at you like a ditz twit. They were so nice, they gave me their handwoven Farlle scarf. After that, not a thing in the world could dampen my bed-of-sunflowers high spirit for the rest of the day. Got to meet some old friends too. Theres Aya san, Sukapon-ta san and Mokekiyo san. ^___^ Two crazy ladies to applaud to. All the way from the Big Apple, they travelled down to LA for Anime Expo and the San Diego Comic convention, and now Tokyo comiket. Wonder if they went C3xHobby2005 after that... Blunder: On the third and last day of the convention, a girl asked me to sketch her a "Olive" but I stupidly sketched her a "Nata" instead.... I didn't realise it till the next morning.... that was so embarrassing. A doodle of what happened.
